All Purpose Pasta Sauce


All purpose and delicious!

Here's a tomato sauce that will work with any number of pasta dishes; ravioli, spaghetti, manicotti and all those other tasty combos of pasta and sauce.

You can easily modify this recipe by adding your favorite fresh herbs, some grated squash, or browned ground beef.

Easy, Delicious Fried Rice

What You'll Need
  • 1 Small yellow onion, diced small
  • 1/4 Red bell pepper, diced mall
  • 1 Tablespoon celery, finely diced
  • 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 15 oz can of diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 Cup of beef stock from base or boullion
  • 2 Teaspoons dried thyme
  • 1/4 Teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 Tablespoon dried parsley
  • Dash of cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste<

What To Do

  • Heat the oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the onion and lower the heat to medium.
  • Cook these for a few minutes then add the peppers when the onions begin to turn translucent.
  • Add the peppers and celery. Stir and cook for a few minutes more. You can increase the heat if you are in a hurry.
  • Saute' until the onions start to carmelize and turn brown.
  • Add the beef stock and tomatoes.
  • Stir and bring to a boil. Lower the heat a bit.
  • Add the thyme, garlic powder, parsley flakes, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
  • Stir, reduce heat and simmer until most of the liquid is gone.
  • Serve over your favorite pasta or as a fresh pizza sauce.
