All Purpose Pasta Sauce
All purpose and delicious!
Here's a tomato sauce that will work with any number of pasta dishes; ravioli, spaghetti, manicotti and all those other tasty combos of pasta and sauce.
You can easily modify this recipe by adding your favorite fresh herbs, some grated squash, or browned ground beef.

- 1 Small yellow onion, diced small
- 1/4 Red bell pepper, diced mall
- 1 Tablespoon celery, finely diced
- 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 15 oz can of diced tomatoes
- 1/2 Cup of beef stock from base or boullion
- 2 Teaspoons dried thyme
- 1/4 Teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 Tablespoon dried parsley
- Dash of cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste<
What To Do
- Heat the oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the onion and lower the heat to medium.
- Cook these for a few minutes then add the peppers when the onions begin to turn translucent.
- Add the peppers and celery. Stir and cook for a few minutes more. You can increase the heat if you are in a hurry.
- Saute' until the onions start to carmelize and turn brown.
- Add the beef stock and tomatoes.
- Stir and bring to a boil. Lower the heat a bit.
- Add the thyme, garlic powder, parsley flakes, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
- Stir, reduce heat and simmer until most of the liquid is gone.
- Serve over your favorite pasta or as a fresh pizza sauce.
